Thomson Carbon Road Drop Handlebars - 31.8 mm - 44 cm
The traditional brand Thomson, which is known for high-precision CNC artwork in the area of stems and seat posts, ventured into the area of carbon processing in 2013. The result is technically sensible and beautiful handlebars. The handlebars are manufactured to Thomson's specifications in Taiwan.
From 2015, Thomson took over development in the USA itself. The handlebars are made from high-strength Toray carbon fibers using a special process. This enables a wrinkle-free layup of the carbon mats. This makes the handlebars more durable and stiffer, as the mats are optimally arranged. Three different fiber types with different tensile strengths and tensile moduli are used. In practice, this means: stiff in the cradle, minimal comfort in the saddle.
Compact handlebars with ergonomically shaped grip areas allow many relaxed positions for the hands and thus for the riding position on the road bike. The carbon handlebars also offer a flattened grip area on the top bar. The brake and gear cables are routed in a recess under the handlebars so that the cables are barely visible or noticeable under the handlebar tape. The handlebars should be fully wrapped.
